INSTINCT/POINT SHOOTING – THIS IS AN ADVANCED LEVEL SHOOTING SKILLS COURSE
This course deals with the essence of defensive shooting in which a shooter is engaging a hostile attacker and never has the opportunity to get sight picture before squeezing the trigger. 90+% of defensive encounters utilize this important technique.
Reflex shooting (also known as Instinct shooting) is based on the close combat experience and teachings of Close Quarter Battle icons Rex Applegate, Bill Sykes, and Dan Fairbairn.
Course goal: Whatever action you take defensively, you do it automatically, subconsciously. The answer to whatever attack you are up against is an instinctive reaction. You don’t have time to think about life or death, you just do it as naturally or instinctively as tying your shoe laces or driving a car.
Drills are executed without sights, and the shooter will be brought to skill levels relative to speed and accuracy that will sway even the most hardened “front sight focus” advocates.
Cost: $300. per person for 3 hours
Requirements: Eye & Ear protection, brimmed baseball-style hat, pistol chambered in 9mm, .38, .380, .40 cal, or .45 ACP with a minimum of two magazines or speed loaders (if they hit the ground they can become fouled – causing firearm malfunctions and reducing student time on the firing line), concealment style holster & magazine or speed loader pouch; 250 rounds of ammunition, Knee and elbow pads (optional), water bottle or hydration device, and, an open mind.
