First Steps Pistol/Florida Concealed Weapon Permit

FIRST STEPS PISTOL/CONCEALED CARRY COURSE (BASIC LEVEL)

This course meets & exceeds the requirements for the State of Florida Concealed Weapons Carry Permit for residents & non-residents.

You do not need to be a resident of Florida to qualify for this permit‚ people who travel find it to be the most comprehensive Concealed Weapon Carry Permit accepted – it’s now valid in the following 35 states (plus Florida): Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas,   Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico,  North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming.

OUTLINE: This is the NRA’s “FIRST STEPS PISTOL” course which is designed for the beginning shooter, complimented by the requirements of the State of Florida for a Concealed Weapon Carry Permit.

A knowledge of firearms is not assumed or required, “everything” is explained fully so that the student feels completely comfortable.
Each student progresses at their own pace.

Firearm basics and shooting techniques are covered in a “comprehensive” 4 hour classroom setting.
There is a 1-hour range session where the students will demonstrate firearm ability & safety by shooting 10 rounds with a semi automatic .22 caliber pistol, 9 rounds with a .22 caliber revolver, and 10 rounds with a semi automatic 9mm pistol.

During the range exercise, hands-on instruction is provided to assure that the student learns the correct methods for firing a pistol with full observance of all safety rules.

a) Semi-Automatic Knowledge
b) Revolver Knowledge
3.  Fundamental Gun Safety Rules
4.  Pistol Operation
5.  Ammunition Malfunctions
6.  Shooting – Live Fire section of the Class
7.  Maintenance and Cleaning
8.  Holster Selection/Concealment Techniques
9.  Outline of laws pertaining to Florida Concealed Carry to include:
a) Safety and responsibility by law of firearms around children
b) Restricted Carry Areas
c) Weapons Laws
d) Shoot/Don’t Shoot Scenarios/Use of Force and Justification
e) Escalation of Force
f) Interaction with Law Enforcement

 

Private one-on-one, or, private group 5 hour course is $200. per student.
2 1/2 hour Concealed Permit applicable law & firearms live-fire shooting class for experienced shooters is $150.
