ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A victim of a violent home invasion shot and killed one of the armed men who burst into his home. A second suspect was stabbed by another victim at the home on Muscatello Street near John Young Parkway late Wednesday night.

"I'm sure if I would have stayed in there, I would have gotten killed," said victim Allen Long.

Long was left with six stitches above his left eye that prove he had the fight of his life.

Orange County deputies said three men, two with guns, entered the house Long rents with five roommates and tried to rob them around 11 o'clock Wednesday night. Jessica Goodson was visiting at the time.

"They just said, 'Get down on the ground. Do what we tell you.' The other guy came in and told us to get in the bathroom," she explained.

Deputies said one of the victims hid in a closet with an AK-47. He told detectives he heard two gunshots that were fired into the ceiling. When one of the home invaders tried to open the closet door, the frightened victim fired the high-powered rifle three times and killed the intruder.

Meanwhile, Long was also trying to defend himself.

"The guy who came after me had brass knuckles. As soon as I saw him, he was hitting me. I was pretty much knocked into the bath tub. We were wrestling around there for a little bit," Long said.

The confrontation ended when Long grabbed his pocketknife and stabbed his attacker in the chest. That person, along with the third suspect, took off.

Detectives have not said why the attack happened, but they did find some kind of illegal substances and-or drug paraphernalia in the house.

The sheriff's office hasn't released the name of the 21-year-old who was shot and killed. Detectives said he had a violent criminal past.
